This quote from the 2001 movie, Vanilla Sky, with Tom Cruise is probably one of my most memorable movie quotes. It hits me with all the right feelings.
The movie Vanilla Sky is best described as a very odd, kinda like what the heck just happened sort of movie, but something about all the memorable lines and life lessons that you take away from it has stuck with me for the past 25 years.

Are you asking me what the point of all of this is? Well, I felt like I had a tough past couple of days dealing with life, basically adulting (yuck). And while I was going through it, I kept reminding myself that we have to go through these hard times, the sour moments, to appreciate the sweet. Life can’t always be sunshine and rainbows and best case scenarios. If there is only joy, would we appreciate it as much if there were never challenges in life?
