Coming Home
I know what you’re thinking. Another platform? Really Candi?
Well, let me tell you.
This one is different. Not because I planned it that way. But because what lives here can’t really exist anywhere else.
Here’s something most people don’t know. Back in the early 2000s before the “Our Family Nest” youtube channel and various social media platforms existed... I had a blog. A mommy blog if we’re being honest about the era. And that’s actually where the name Our Family Nest came from. Not from a YouTube channel or a brand strategy. From a blog. From writing.
So in a way this isn’t a new platform at all. It’s like coming home.
I’ve shared a lot of my life over the years. More than most people would. And I’ve always thought of myself as an open book. But there’s a difference between sharing your life and sharing yourself.
This is me sharing myself.
The chapters that go deeper. The version of me that exists underneath everything you’ve seen. The stories that shaped all of it.
The name felt right because there’s no denying Our Family Nest is now Our Empty Nest, but no matter what, this is still MY NEST. My life. My 4 kids are all grown adults out in the world living their best lives. The home we built is for sale. Everything feels like it’s in transition in the most beautiful and terrifying way.
So I’m writing through it.
